The Ye Olde Bargate’s Charitable aims are directly in line with the Objectives of Freemasonry, to support both Masonic and non-Masonic Charities in the Area and beyond.
Every Master chooses a Charity to benefit for the year, which is their own personal choice. Over the years, amongst the Charities have been the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Princess Anne hospital, the Royal British Legion, Alzheimer’s research, Macmillan Cancer Support and Countess Mountbatten hospice.
The key Charity effort which we are currently supporting is the Hampshire & Isle of Wight 2027 Festival which is a 6 year initiative by all Lodges in Hampshire and Isle of Wight to raise significant amounts of money to support the Masonic Charitable Foundation and its beneficiaries. This is a charity funded entirely by Freemasons, to build better lives by encouraging opportunity, promoting independence and improving wellbeing.
